HTI's Summer Tech 2009 Program offers youth, ages 14 - 24 years of age, a fantastic summer opportunity that will engage them in the areas of critical and creative thinking, as well as foundation development (identity, intent, belief systems, values, etc.) through the art of game-making. Participants will enjoy a six-week project-based work experience wherein they will contribute time, testimony and talents to the betterment of the overall educational experience in Hawai`i.
Guest speakers, workshops and product development exercises enable participants to design and create prototypes of educational games and other learning tools that will turn the development of one's personal foundation into a world of fun for young and old. In addition, service learning opportunities are incorporated throughout the project so participants further develop their individual and collective value of civic responsibility and citizenship.
Summer Tech 2009 will begin on Monday, June 15th and will end on Friday, July 24, 2009. Regular work days will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. All participants will be compensated for their efforts.
You will EARN while you LEARN! Imagine that!
