La'au Lapa'au: Krista Steinfeld – In The House
Allied Health students at Hawai`i Technology Institute were treated yet again to another visit with Krista Steinfeld, a la`au lapa`au instructor at University of Hawai`i Center for Hawaiian Studies. Krista visited night program students in the big room at Myron B. Thompson Academy, and she always is a must-see when she comes here.
Krista’s talk-story is aimed at encouraging people to remember what’s important about their health: eating, sleeping, exercising and cleansing. She also shared her extensive mana`o / knowledge about Hawaiian medicinal plants.
“I learned how important it is to eat healthy, sleep well and exercise. Because it is important to realize our ancestors lived well and prospered without all the ‘necessities’ we have today,” a student shared in her evaluation form. Iclynn Kekoa-Asperilla wrote, “Her mana`o was ono and for any aspect of life you may need.”
Mahalo nui e Krista! We can’t wait until you come visit us again!
