Breakfast At HTI

Tuesday - November 11, 2008

If you’ve ever watched the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, then you know Tiffany has got nothing over HTI.  The recent “Breakfast at HTI” earned rave reviews, especially since Tiffany’s, located at the corner of 727 Fifth Avenue and 57th Street New York, New York doesn’t even serve breakfast. Though HTI at 629 Pohukaina Street in Honolulu, Hawai`i doesn’t serve breakfast either, there are those few and far-between days wherein you just might get lucky and be standing in line to witness the fare.
Break1-2Break2
Some of HTI’s students can attest to having tasted some of the most ono pancakes ever prepared right here on campus.  On the morning of, those students who showed up no later than 7:45 a.m. were treated to a fantabulous, mouth-watering buffet of all-you-could-eat pancakes, crispy fried bacon, Vienna sausage, eggs, rice, toast and fresh fruits. They also had a choice of hot or cold coffee or tea, refreshing orange juice or ice cold water, and some students even made hot chocolate to dunk toast in and enjoy with breakfast.  How cool is that?
Break3Break4
The early-rising staff members present were invited to savor the moment as well, and some even came in early to help with the cooking.  A big mahalo and heart-felt smiles goes out to all the helping hands.  At one point that morning, there was very little conversation by near-all in attendance – a clear indicator that the food was great!
