HTI Medical Assistant students work at variety of healthcare offices during their internships.
Potential students are required to successfully complete the Career Transition Program (CTP) prior to being accepted into HTI programs. The CTP is a four-week full-time or eight week part-time program designed to improve the success rate of students in HTI and other programs.
The program focuses on the development of basic professional and personal skills, knowledge, and strategies. In professional development, students learn basic computer skills and career development strategies that include career exploration, a personal portfolio, and job readiness skills. In personal development, students' basic workplace literacy and math skills are sharpened through instructor-led and computer-based learning.
Students also focus on life skills, decision-making and critical thinking skills, coping and self-management skills and self-awareness.
Upon completion, many students go on to enroll in one of HTI's other programs such as Medical Assisting or Office Technology Management.
What the Career Transition program offers:

- Introduction to computers and use of the Internet
- Align career goals with interests, needs, and aptitudes
- Develop and enhance learning strategies and life skills
