At HTI, the faculty and students are committed to a mutual process of learning and development. Learning takes place in the classroom, at student social events, through community outreach, and professional internships. In all of these environments, students learn to be self-directed and become life-long learners. Our average student to instructor ratio of 14:1 fosters a close-knit, collaborative environment where students receive the attention and support they need.
New Student Orientation
Before beginning a new program, students attend “Prepare for Success” workshops in preparation for the academic rigors of full-time courses and training. The week of workshops focuses on values, behaviors, and techniques necessary for success at HTI.
Student Advising
Instructors advise students on academic progress on a continuous basis. The Dean of Academic Affairs and the Coordinator of Student Services are available to advise you on personal growth, professional development, and academic success.
Volunteer Opportunities
HTI makes community service projects a part of every program. Students have the opportunity to give back to the community through various volunteer activities such as preparing food at soup kitchens and assisting in operations at homeless shelters.
Student Events
To foster the values and culture of HTI, a variety of enjoyable events are planned for students and their families and friends during each semester. HTI also hosts 'Ohana Night' to welcome family and friends.
